The student will be exposed to all aspects of newborn to adolescent health issues and presentation.

The infants and children progress through a series of growth and development stages.

Understanding the child’s changing and emerging growth and development is an important challenge to the practitioner.

They may encounter physical and emotional challenges, and some relatively common problems during these years.

The practitioner must be able to appreciate the integrate complexities and be able to manage them.

Evaluation and management of growth and development from infancy to adolescence.

Evaluation and management of emotions, personality, behavior, thinking and speech during development including their interaction with the world around them.

Well-child checks, routine and sick visits.

Foreign body removals, skin, nose, ears, eyes, cornea, and yes, we do have a slit lamp!

Immunizations.

Drug screenings.

School and sports physicals.

Sports injuries and management.

Management of chronic conditions.

Mood, psych, behavioral services.

Adolescent and teen medicine.

STD screening and management.
